A Health Coach is a healthy living expert and supportive mentor who works with clients to achieve their individual wellness goals. Health coaches educate, motivate and support clients to make positive choices for life long changes. We are trained to help you break down your goals into manageable steps, recognize and overcome personal obstacles, track your progress and celebrate your success.
What a Health Coach is NOT
A health coach doesn’t tell you what to eat. A good health coach will not tell you what to do, but will listen and ask questions to lead you to your own decisions that are right for you. After all, this you’re your journey.
How does a Health Coach fit into the medical world?
A health coach is not a replacement for a doctor or therapist, but works with medical professionals to help their patients follow recommendations. Many doctors aren’t educated in nutrition and surely can’t spend the time you need to make life long, lifestyle changes. Many physicians advise their patients to lose weight, reduce blood pressure or lower cholesterol but it is up to the patient to follow through.
